Roxie relaxing with her friend Andie. Her dairy character really shows through now that she is clipped. Much cooler too! Many fine animals are in her pedigree including Gem's dam, MCH Flat Rocks Surprise *D.
Well, my sneaky Troubadour did it again. Roxie kidded today, 3/12/08, with a single buck kid and a nicely attached, first freshening udder! I didn't think that breeding took but today proved otherwise.

Tantrum is just a sweetheart of a doe. She loves people and the more attention she can get the better she likes it. She has the most beautiful gold eyes. With Indy as her sire and the Jobi genetics on her dam's side, she should do well showing and milking. Tantrum is currently (April) in the breeding pen with Xplorer and we will be looking forward to fall 2008 kids.
Update: Tantrum is now residing with my friend Kristin and I still get to see her often. I am hoping to get a doe kid from her this fall.

Virtue arrived with Violette on September 9th. She is a very dairy doe (probably the most dairy looking doe I have) and I thank Debbie for allowing me to purchase her. She milks so easily and has the most incredible feel to her udder. Her litter mate sister Vivacious was retained by Sugar Creek Farm. Virtue's dam, Patience, was the 2006 AGS National Best Udder in Breed!
Virtue is now residing at Buck & Kristin's, along with Tantrum, Roxie, & Spark and I get to see them often!

Spark as a 1-year-old.
Forgive the fuzzy pictures but it has been very cold here. Spark is really a very handsome and correct young man under all that fur. He is very looong and level and usually very well mannered!
Spark is now residing at Buck & Kristin's and I get to see him every morning on my way to work!

Spark attended the Fuzzy Buck Show in Ladysmith Wisconsin on May 5, 2007 (his very first show) and won 1st Place in his class of one-year-olds under Judge Tom Considine, despite not behaving very well! He was complimented by the judge on his dairy character.

Dubltake is a broken buckskin heavily overlaid with white. Taker has developed into a very nice looking buck, showing great length and exceptional dairy character.
Update: "Taker" is now residing with Venus and JoJo at Jean Jasinsky's Cedarhurst Farm.

Although I really didn't intend to keep any bucks this year, Prancer looked so nice I couldn't bear to wether him. He is really turning into a sharp looking young buck.
Update: With my new additions, I just had to cut back on bucks so Prancer has been sold to Boni and Dennis Varda (Varda Farm).

Tyra is as sweet as they come and has the patience of a saint to boot! She is the gal I learned to milk on. Thanks Debbie at Whispering Woods Farm for thinking of me when you decided to sell her. Tyra kidded 4/24/07 with triplets - 2 blue-eyed does and a brown-eyed buck!
Click the thumbnail photo above to view Tyra with her new babies. The kids are just a couple of hours old.
We retained one doeling, Lucille, standing on the cable reel stand in the background. Tyra and Lucille just took Reserve Grand Champion Mother/Daughter at the St. Louis County Fair!
Update: Tyra and Lucille have been sold to Boni and Dennis Varda (Varda Farm), along with Prancer in order to make room for my new additions.

Venus freshened without assistance on 4/6/07 with a single handsome dark chocolate and white buck kid. Venus will be bred to Dubltake for late spring kids.
Update: Venus has gone to live with Jean Jasinsky and will be keeping JoJo company.

Lucille, on the left above, is the doe we retained this year. She is a lovely improvement over her dam while retaining her momma's sweet personality. Lucille was shown at the St. Louis County Fair in August along with her dam Tyra. They won Reserve Grand Champion Mother/Daughter!
Lucille was shown at the Embarrass Fair in August and won the Queen's Choice Blue Ribbon for her pick as the best animal at the fair!
Update: Lucille has been sold to Boni & Dennis Varda (Varda Farm), along with Prancer and Tyra. I hadn't intended to sell her but found myself overwhelmed with my new additions and needed to cut back. I look forward seeing her at on the show circuit in 2008!

Thank you Valerie for this small, stylish, and sharp dairy kid. She is a wonderful addition to our herd. She won Reserve Grand Champion Junior Doe at the St. Louis County Fair.
Update: JoJo (her new name) has been sold to Jean Jasinsky on breeder's terms. She will be bred to Excaliber in November. I still haven't figured out how she talked me out of one of my favorite girls! Anyway, she is going to a wonderful home and Jean has given me visitation rights☺.
