Herd Sires
Last Updated: 9/1/10
The first thing I look at on a farm is their bucks. A buck with great conformation and fabulous mammaries backing him up is the best and quickest way to improve your herd. Buy the very best you can afford. Be sure to check out their dam's udder, their sister's udder, and their sire's dam's udder. I will have just a few intact bucks available out of my very best does. Most buck kids will be wethered.

2010 LA: 90 Excellent EEV!!!
I brought this handsome, well-mannered guy home from Michigan last fall (2008). Domino, a doe kid out of Lost Valley Cinnamon Girl, is my first daughter to freshen out of Megapixel (07/12/10). Her first freshening udder is very nice and an improvement over her dam's in medial and teat size. Photos are courtesy of Dancing Angels Nigerians. Thanks Meghan!

Megapixel's beautiful littermate sister, Twin Creeks WDF Butterfly Dance resides at Dawn Land Farm in New Hampshire. Her owner, Laura Whitlock, has this to say about her first freshening udder: "We are very pleased with Butterfly's first freshening--lovely twin girls and a very capacious udder, widely attached all over, high in the rear, smooth in the fore, with good-sized, easily-milked plumb teats".

One Month Fresh--A "plastered on" udder with excellent lateral support. Butterfly has a very smooth foreudder and "handful" teats to die for! Photos of Butterfly courtesy of Laura Whitlock at Dawn Land Farm. Thanks Laura!
I just received the 2nd freshening udder photos shown below from Laura. Aren't they awesome? Also, she has kidded with a total of 5 does in her first two kiddings!

DOB: 1/16/07
2010 LA: 86 VG VEV (two first freshening daughters were appraised and both received scores of 88!)
A very handsome (and hairy) Excaliber is pictured above in the spring of 2010. Don't you just love his beard!
We have anxiously awaited the arrival of this flashy buckskin Kingwood son and he certainly was worth the wait. Thanks Audrey & Amy! His litter mate brother, Pegasus, was retained by Lost Valley as a herd sire. His older brother Lost Valley KW Orion *S is 1 leg away from his MCH and Orion's sister Lost Valley KW Casseopeia already has her junior leg. Hopefully Madison will pick up her last leg this coming show season and follow in both her sire & dam's hoofsteps.
News Flash! Madison finished her championship at the Houston Livestock Show and Orion won his Master Championship on 6/2/2007!
Our sympathies to Amy & Audrey at Lost Valley Nigerians on the loss of Kingwood on May 20th, 2007. He was one of the most influential bucks in the history of the Nigerian Dwarf breed and will be greatly missed.

Excaliber took 1st in Senior Yearling Bucks in the second show at the Northern Lights Dairy Goat Association's Summer Show in Marshfield, Wisconsin on June 14, 2008 and went on to win Reserve Champion under judge Emily Thompson, earning his first ADGA championship leg.
ARMCH Lost Valley Callisto, Excaliber's grand dam, just became the 2008 AGS National Grand Champion Senior Doe! Congratulations Amy and Audrey!
MCH Lost Valley KW Pegasus, Excaliber's littermate brother, was named the 2008 ANDDA All American GCH 2-Year-Old Buck!
Cassandra, Excaliber's first daughter born (out of Xplicit), freshened with a very pleasing udder at My Own Private Idaho Farm. Photo of Cassandra's first fresh udder is courtesy of Beth Keene.
Update: Excaliber's dam, Madison, was #9 High Milk, #9 Butterfat, #9 Protein for 2009 AGS 305 DHIR!
Excaliber will be joining Beth Keene's herd this fall (2010) but I will be using him on several of my nicest does before he leaves. He will be greatly missed.

I hadn't intended to bring home another buck as I am trying to downsize to a more manageable herd size but when the opportunity came up to make a trade for this boy, I just couldn't resist.
Buddy's paternal grand dam, MCH Lost Valley BDC Serabi 4*D was recently named the 2009 AGS #1 Breed Leader for milk production, butterfat, and protein on 305 DHIR!
Update: Buddy will be rejoining his breeder's herd this fall. Hopefully I can get Suzy Q bred to him before he leaves.

Obama shown clipped at 18 months old.
News Flash! Obama's dam Breezy won the High Production Award at the 2010 ADGA National Show!
8/29/10: ADGA just released their 2009 Top Ten Breed Leaders for Production and Breezy made the top ten in all three categories, placing #8 for production, #4 for butterfat, and #5 for protein!
Obama is a heavily moon spotted gold and black buckskin kid. His pedigree is filled with some amazing animals. His maternal grand dam, Bridget, was the 2004 AGS National Champion, and his maternal great grand dam, Felicia, was the 2003 AGS National Champion. His dam, Breezy, is line bred on ARMCH Caesar's Villa CBS Stetson ++*S, a buck that truly left his mark on the Nigerian Dwarf world. This boy's paternal grand dam, Witch Hazel, was the 2005 AGS National Show Best Udder, and his paternal great grand dam, Water Lily, was the 2000 AGS National Champion. His sire, Cauldron, is line bred on +B ARMCH Rosasharn's Tiger L +*S E, another highly influential buck in the Nigerian world. Cauldron is also the littermate brother of Shazam's dam, Bewitched. I am looking for Obama to contribute flat rumps, great teat size, strong medials, and overall exceptional mammary systems. If little Obama can live up to the potential of his pedigree, he should be outstanding! Thank you Keith and Marie!
I kept two 2010 buck kids and 7 daughters out of Obama so he has been sold and will be going to sire some beautiful kids at Meghan Namaste's Dancing Angels herd this fall.

Well, Doo Wop really delivered for me (and Ellen too!), kidding with quads ... three does and my gorgeous buck Big Bopper! Thank you Ellen for allowing him to join my herd!!! He looks solid black but Ellen said he appears dark chocolate around the mouth and eyes so he may turn chocolate. Either way, I am just tickled pink! Doo Wop is one of the nicest does Ellen has bred and XM is a Show Tunes son who has sired some very promising does at Dill's. He is also the littermate brother to Sugar Creek TW X-Tunes, who was one of the nicest first fresheners I had ever seen, and the dam to my own little YoYo.
MI Sugar Creek TW Tunes XM *S pictured above left and MCH/CH Dill's FH Doo Wop 5*D above right. Aren't they just gorgeous! Doo Wop has a long, lean dairy neck and a lovely flat rump, as well as a beautiful and productive mammary system. Photos courtesy of Ellen Dorsey at Dill's A Little Goat Farm.
Update: Doo Wop was a member of the 3rd Place Best Three Senior Does at the 2010 ADGA National Show as well as a member of the 4th Place Best Dairy Herd! Congratulations Ellen and Doo Wop!

I am very excited about this handsome buck and just couldn't pass up the opportunity to purchase him. First off, his dam Zesta has wonderfully large, milkable teats. This is something that is sadly lacking in the breed. Secondly, she is 3/4 sister to ARMCH/GCH NC PromisedLand SS Zoey 6*S, 3*M, who is absolutely gorgeous and one of my favorite does ever! Thirdly, his pedigree is chock full of milk and breed leaders. In 2010, his grand dam Uni was still in the Top Ten in milk production in both AGS and ADGA at ten years old! She is currently #5 in milk production, #7 in butterfat, and #6 in protein in ADGA and holds the all time high record for butterfat in the breed! Zen himself is very dairy and has a nice front end assembly. Thanks to David Kowalski for allowing him to join my herd!
